Cheetahs promoter Steve Purchase has taken the unprecedented step of publishing attendances on the Oxford website.
For some reason, unlike football, speedway has never published crowd figures in the past.
However, Purchase feels everyone should know how many people are at Oxford each week and has used the website to issue attendances as he looks to capitalise on the internet more and more.
Cheetahs' internet webmaster and press officer Leon Hill was more than happy to make the necessary adjustments.
Purchase said: "I thought the best place to include attendances was on the fixtures and results page, as everyone looks on there for the latest information."
He also saw the benefits for the club: "People have often thought it mysterious that these figures are kept secret and it shows that Oxford are trying to move the sport forward." The recent fixture changes have created confusion among fans and speedway officials alike with changes being made between the programme going to print on the Tuesday and the meeting that is being held that Friday!
There is still no date for the Elite League B match at Peterborough, but September sees away matches at Poole (6th) and Belle Vue (27th).
Next month also sees the completion of the home league matches (weather permitting) with Kings Lynn the visitors next Friday (8th), Poole (15th) and Ipswich (29th).
