Neal Radford is a big injury worry for Premier Division leaders Banbury ahead of their title showdown at second-placed High Wycombe tomorrow, writes Richard Tilley.
The former England seamer has turned an ankle and is rated no better than 50-50 to play.
"It's very, very unlikely that he will bowl, and if he does play, then it will probably be just as a batsman," said skipper Neil Megson.
Radford will have a fitness test tomorrow morning, with club stalwart Martin Thomas on standby if he fails it.
Banbury's victory over Beaconsfield in a rain-reduced game last week saw them regain the leadership from Wycombe, who lost a weather-affected encounter with Luton. The Oxfordshire side are ten points clear with just two matches remaining and they can secure the inaugural Home Counties crown with a win tomorrow.
"A draw would be enough to keep us in front, and then we would have to win our last game," said Megson.
"But we're not thinking about drawing. Everyone knows that if you play negatively, then you can get into trouble.
"We might not have Neal, and that would be a big blow, but we have the strength in depth, and we are very confident. After all, we annihilated them earlier in the season."
Spinner Paul Hill comes back into the Banbury side after missing last week.
There is still a chance that struggling Bicester & North Oxford could go down but not if they win at home to Radlett tomorrow. Bicester were washed out last Saturday, while relegation rivals Luton, who Bicester face next week, closed the gap by beating Wycombe.
"It hit us hard that Luton actually played their game," said skipper Darryl Woods.
"It makes a bit of a mockery of the league that a competition based on long games of cricket could be decided by a 20-over-a-side slog.
"I don't think it was an accident that the two games to survive the weather involved the top two teams and one of the bottom sides. It leaves a slightly bitter taste, but I would probably have done the same in their positions."
Oxfordshire captain Rob Williams returns for James France, who is on army manoeuvres.
Oxford welcome back Oxfordshire spinner Giles Peddy from a six-week-long jaunt to Australia for their Western Feeder game at home to Tring. Batsman Abeed Janmohammed is also back in the side.
