THE waiting is over for Oxford City Stars as they host Basingstoke Buffalo in the English National League tomorrow (5.45).
Youth will be to the fore as Oxford build for the future under coach James Cameron.
He said: "We have some great young players here at Oxford and will give as many as possible a chance to play senior hockey during the season.
"Five of the under 19 side are joining the main squad each game and some of the best under 16s will also get plenty of chances.
"We have a skilled squad with a bit of steel and experience supplied by popular Oxford players of the past such as Trevor Joseph , Darren Elliott, Paul Donohoe and Derek Flint who misses this opener as he is still back home in Canada.
"These players will give their all for Oxford and we hope the fans will turn out in numbers to witness the return of senior hockey and enjoy some exciting action."
This will be a tough opener for Stars as Basingstoke just missed out on the league title last season and include two overseas imports.
Admission is 3 for adults and 1.50 for children and students.
