Police are hunting the driver of a vehicle that failed to stop after a head-on crash that resulted in an elderly couple needing hospital treatment, writes Emma Henry.
The accident happened at 6.50pm on Thursday, on the Fulbrook to Swinbrook road, just outside Burford.
A Suzuki car, with a local couple in their 70s inside, was in a head-on collision with a four-wheel-drive vehicle.
This vehicle failed to stop after the incident and departed from the scene, leaving the elderly couple trapped in their car. The couple were taken to the John Radcliife Hospital, Oxford, for treatment to minor neck and back injuries.
The vehicle police are looking for is believed to be a dark-coloured four-wheel drive, possibly with P-registration. It has large chrome bull bars on the front and light-coloured stripes on each side.
A police spokesman said: "It will have extensive front-end damage, which will require repair before the vehicle can be driven on the road again."
