Southern Counties North report
Newly promoted Grove opened their programme with a notable 15-10 win over Oxford Harlequins in a disjointed game .
Quins opened the scoring when quick ball on the right was whipped left through the hands of fly half Chris Penney and centres Anthony and James Cope, with full back Gareth Jones timing his run into the line perfectly to score. Penney converted to give Quins a 7-0 lead.
Grove began to mount a series of attacks which led to James Docherty scoring a well-worked try and Den Hamett converting.
Quins regained the lead with a penalty by Penney on the stroke of half time.
Grove went ahead midway through the second half when Rob Weaving hacked through onto a loose ball and from the ruck Duncan Barbour crossed the line.
Quins lost prop John Silversides with a cut under the eye. Tight tackling kept Grove in check right to the last minute when Hamett kicked a penalty
