Family rows are the biggest cause of homelessness in south Oxfordshire.
Strain particularly begins to show when couples are sharing with parents and relatives.
During the last year 177 people went to South Oxfordshire District Council as homeless - 69 as a result of family rows.
The next highest category was in people losing the tenancies of the places they rented, for a variety of reasons. Mortgage arrears accounted for 11.
A report on the district's housing needs has been submitted to the Government for grant aid. Housing committee chairman, Mike McNulty, said various steps were being taken to get temporary housing without resorting to bed and breakfast.
