A woman who returned home on a late-night bus had to fend off a vicious attack.
The 29-year-old was pushed to the ground by a man as she was walking from a bus stop on Witney's Burwell Farm estate. She was scratched on the face, but the man ran off when she started fighting back.
Witney police are appealing for information, particularly from other passengers on the Oxford to Carterton Stagecoach bus at about 1.30am on Friday.
WPc Karen Gray said: "The attacker may also have been on this late-night bus and other passengers could have useful information."
The attacker was white, with blond hair, muscular, in his 20s, and wore a white shirt and dark blue trousers.
Anyone with information should ring Witney police on 01993 893850.
