Woodstock Harrier Dave Ashton led home a field of 140 competitors at Sunday's Tetsworth 10K.
His time of 34.00 was just 46 seconds ahead of his clubmate Bryan Vaughan, who took third place. Vaughan was also the first Vet 40 runner home.
Alchester's star performer was Julie Bennett. For most of the race she battled for the lead with a rival from London University who just edged ahead in the latter stages.
Bennett's second place in 42.05 was her fastest 10K in three years.
Pete Chivers was the first Alchester runner home in ninth place overall.
Due to a computer failure on the day, race organisers were unable to confirm positions in the Veteran Over 50 category, but it is believed that Chivers's time of 38.59 put him in second place in his age group.
