Premier Division champions Brize Norton opened the season with a hard-fought 3-2 win over Bampton, the side that pushed them the hardest last season, writes John Smyth.
Graham Clarke's first-half effort for Brize was cancelled out by Darrell Broome.
John Curtis's second-half brace looked to have ended Bampton's challenge, but a spectacular headed own goal by substitute Pete O'Reilly gave them hope only for Brize to hold on.
Newly-promoted Chadlington opened in style by thumping Eynsham Royals 5-0.
All the goals came in the second half with Antony Cooper (2), Simon Catling, Sean Sykes and Chris Fox on target.
