The husband of a cyclist who died after being knocked down by a car has criticised the 300 fine given to the driver.
Sean Moore was speaking after Bicester magistrates sentenced Barry Upstone for careless and inconsiderate driving following the accident at the junction of Southwold Lane on January 8.
Jane Moore was wearing a fluorescent jacket, when she was hit by a car as she crossed the roundabout on her way to work at the Defence, Clothing and Textile Agency in Caversfield. Mrs Moore, 54, of Fair Close, Bicester, died at the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford the following day.
Mr Upstone, 49, of Spencer Gardens, Brackley, pleaded guilty at the court hearing yesterday.
The car sales executive, who works for Booth and Phipps in the town, was fined 300 and given six penalty points on his licence.
Mr Moore, who was married to his wife for 23 years, said: "It's 300 for a human life. Everything seems to be in favour of the defendant, not the victim.
