Autotype UTV League round-up
Wantage outfit King Alfred's Head, who nicked the Division 3B title at the death last season, sounded a warning to their Division 2 rivals by kicking off with a resounding 10-0 victory at Rutherford Lab, writes Mick Day.
Wayne Hogan led the charge with four strikes and James Preston and James Buchanan grabbed a hat-trick each.
In Division 1, newcomers Red Lion Sunday held last season's runners-up East Hendred to a 3-3 draw at Mill Lane.
Dean Godwin, Chris Cording and James Stockford, with a late equaliser, netted for Red Lion with Chris Slevin, an own goal and Neil Thimbleby replying.
A last-gasp strike from Ryan Pratley gave Witney Elm Tree a fine 4-3 win at Brightwell.
Tree were 3-0 up at the break after strikes from Matt Pratley, brother Ryan and Wayne LePage.
But Brightwell came charging back in the second half with strikes from Steve Cuddon (2) and Robbie Spencer only for Ryan Prattley to grab the late winner.
