The first major revival of Julian Mitchell's award-winning play Another Country can be seen at the Oxford Playhouse until September 16, before going on to a West End run.
This play created a sensation when it first opened in the West End 20 years ago - and heralded a resurgence of great British drama, launching the careers of Rupert Everett, Kenneth Branagh, Daniel Day Lewis and Colin Firth in the process.
The Oxford Playhouse is the only regional theatre to stage this new production before it moves on to the West End.
It stars Tom Wisdom - well-known as heart-throb hairdresser Tom Ferguson in the TV soap Coronation Street - Patrick Ryecart, Alex Avery, Jamie de Courcey, William Green, Martin Hutson, Neil Jones, Ben Meyjes, Edward Purver and Ferdy Roberts.
Another Country is the story of two idealistic, rebellious students at an elite public school during the thirties who shake the school to its foundations as they struggle against their own oppressions.
