Pupils at an Oxfordshire secondary school are switched on when it comes to saving power.
Thanks to a pioneering project between the Energy Saving Trust and British Gas, Chipping Norton School has been carrying out an energy saving scheme.
The school, which last year won the British Gas Power Savers Energy Efficiency Award, has installed automatic lighting controls, which have earned the school a generous rebate.
Allan Wood, communications manager of British Gas, said: "At present, schools generally spend about three times more on energy than on books and we hope that this partnership will help redress that balance."
