One of Oxford University's colleges will be closed until Monday while repair work is carried out on its 18th century buildings.
Scaffolding has been put up at the main entrance of Worcester College for builders to fix the library's leaking flat roof.
New shelving units for the Pottinger Room, above the college chapel, are being installed at the same time. The chapel will also receive a thorough clean following the work.
Domestic bursar Steve Dyer said the roof leak had affected light fittings but none of the books had been damaged.
He said: "All the repair work will be finished in time for the start of term on October 1."
The cost of repairing the library roof is estimated at 10,000.
