Woodstock spoiled the title ambitions of Norham Gardens in Men's Division 1 of the Oxon Wilson Inter Club League, writes Andrew Parsons.
The home team were always struggling to keep in touch with a strong Woodstock side.
Although Norham's first pair of Jaco Portengen and Ian Forenson won all three of their rubbers, they found little support from their other pairings.
Leading 3T-2T after two rounds, Woodstock achieved the 5T-3T victory thanks to Pramod Gujral and David Gosnell, who saw off rival second pairing Ben Donnelly and George McVicar 6-7, 7-6, 6-3.
Woodstock Ladies also enjoyed a good 7-2 win at home to strugglers Cholsey, who now seem likely to suffer relegation.
