Electronic parts company Electrocomponents has joined the list of the top 100 companies listed on the London Stock Exchange, writes Maggie Hartford.
Electrocomponents, which employs about 200 people at the Oxford Business Park in Cowley, is among five companies confirmed as new entrants to the FTSE 100, following the regular quarterly review.
The company moved from Northamptonshire to new offices on the site of the car factory's former North and South Works.
Among companies leaving the FTSE 100 to make way for these new entrants is Hanson, which employs several hundred people at quarries and gravel workings in Oxfordshire.
