Skulduggery, with a husband trying to murder his wife and some stolen jewels, make up the Victorian thriller Gaslight.
The play by Patrick Hamilton is the latest offering by Charlbury Amateur Dramatic Society, and will be staged from October 19 to 21 in the Memorial Hall.
The three main characters are played by Richard Yapp, Christine Pearce and George Gandy.
Betty Stokes, the chairman of Cads, is producing the play, with sets deigned by Geoff Clifford.
Mrs Stokes said: "Gaslight is a Victorian thriller. We've been raiding houses in the town for period props."
The curtain will rise each night at 8pm, with tickets at 4 obtainable from News and Things and the Pharmacy in Charlbury.
