A millennium exhibition to showcase the work of talented young artists in the Didcot area is being planned.
The show, at the Didcot youth and community centre in December, follows the success of the town's annual open art exhibitions in August.
Organiser Jennie Kuca said the August exhibition had not attracted many young artists so the Didcot Youth Council and Didcot Arts Society D'Arts is mounting the new exhibition aimed specifically at artistic teenagers.
Mrs Kuca, co-ordinator of D'Arts, said the December 17 to 23 exhibition, entitled Art 2000 could become an annual event.
Mrs Kuca added: "The art work being produced at local schools especially at Didcot Girls' School and St Birinus Boys' School is outstanding and should be recognised by a wider audience locally." Entry forms for Art 2000 are available from Didcot's One-Stop-Shop at the Civic Hall, at the Youth and Community Centre in Park Road, and from Mrs Kuca, at Swallows, Main Road, East Hagbourne call 01235 818273.
The closing date for entry forms is December 8, and the entry fee is 1 for two works.
There will be a main award and other prizes, including professional picture framing and artists' materials.
