Villagers fighting plans for a major bus depot are facing another delay.

A public inquiry into the proposed Stagecoach depot at Kidlington has been adjourned until December to decide whether environmental groups should be consulted.

It has emerged that the bus company plans to remove 30,000 tons of soil to lower the level of the ground for the new depot.

Environment Secretary John Prescott will now be asked to decide whether the Environment Agency, English Nature and other amenity groups should be asked for their views.
