Clothing retailer Austin Reed celebrated 100 years in business with a special party for staff and customers, writes Sarah Parker.
More than 50 people packed into the shop in Cornmarket Street to enjoy a glass of Champagne and a slice of celebration alcohol-laced cake.
Assistant manager Robert Plant, said: "We are usually quite low-key but we did invite some of our long-standing customers along and there was a lovely party atmosphere. Everyone who came we knew which was great.
"This was a very important milestone for Austin Reed as we are slowly modernising our range. We spent a lot of time chatting to our customers who are generally happy with the change to our style."
Mr Plant added: "It is surprising what some of our long-standing customers want. I personally think that because we are moving towards a cafe society the clothes that people want do not have to be as formal.
"Smart casual is the way we are heading, but we will of course still cater for our customers who require something more traditional. Generally our customers are moving with the times."
