A closed-circuit television camera scheme could be extended to combat crime in Garth Park, Bicester.
Bicester currently has two cameras keeping an eye on Sheep Street and further cameras surveying the Crown Walk shopping precinct, Bure Place car park and Manorsfield Road.
Now Bicester Town Council is considering increasing the number of cameras after concerns about the growing rise in vandalism and drug-taking at the Launton Road park where the town council offices are based.
Head gardener Brian Corcoran, who had a health scare after being pricked by a needle two months ago, said he would like to see cameras extended to Garth Park. He said: "I think having cameras at here is a good idea."
Town mayor Debbie Pickford said extending the CCTV scheme was "under investigation" and that issues like funding will have to be looked into.
