Poverty-stricken Students scraping by on pennies are being given tips on cheap and cheerful dishes.
Oxford health visitor Anna Hinton and community dietician Helen Lloyd have distributed 20,000 copies of a special diet guide to 80 universities across Britain, to help undergraduates eat well.
Recipes on the Student Eating Guide calendar include vegetarian bolognese, breakfast banana and chocolate toasty and easy peezy pizza.
It was written by the Oxfordshire Community Health NHS Trust workers and sponsored by university caterers Sutcliffe's in a bid to give freshers information about eating nutritional and enjoyable food which will not break the bank.
Ms Hinton, who is also Oxford Brookes University's health visitor, said: "Students ask for information on how to eat well on a very tight budget every new academic year."
