An environmental hit squad took over an Oxford school for a day.
The Blue Planet Team visited Wesley Green Middle School, Wesley Close, Blackbird Leys, to kindle pupils' interest in green issues.
The aim was to remind pupils that the earth must be cared for and respected.
Dressed in space costumes, the team began by acting out a drama on an intergalactic rescue vessel containing aliens who pledge to seek ways of doing more with less.
A multi-media presentation took the pupils on a voyage from outer space to the school hall.
A series of workshops highlighted issues such as renewable energy, global warming and recycling. There was a rags-to-riches fashion show which featured clothes made from scrap materials.
The school's head of science, Emma Humphreys, said: "I think that Blue Planet gives the children more awareness of the environment locally, with their own lives, and globally."
