A layby that had become a tipping site is to be cleared up and closed.
Travellers left loads of rubbish when they camped on the layby on an approach road to Heyford Park, the former airfield at Upper Heyford.
The mess also led to fly-tippers leaving more refuse, which was threatening to pollute a stream.
Farmer Joe Pickford said: "It is a real fly-tipping site. It seems that the rubbish the travellers left has attracted more people to tip there. Refuse has blocked a stream and that has caused flooding in one of our fields."
Mr Pickford, of Ashgrove Farm, Ardley with Fewcott, explained that he had land on either side of the road that runs from the B43O, the former Northampton road, to the old air base.
"The rubbish should be cleared away quickly," said Mr Pickford. But it will not be gone until the end of October.
Steve Bowden, deputy area engineer at Oxfordshire County Council's depot in Bicester, said a contractor was giving them an estimate for the cost of removal.
He added: "We shall share the cost 50/50 with Cherwell District Council and I hope it will be cleared by the end of the month. The stream could be affected if the refuse leaked out of bags."
