Oxford riders made their presence felt in the big meetings over the weekend, with Todd Wiltshire finishing third in the Czech Golden Helmet and Ales Dryml occupying the same spot in the Czech Golden Ribbon.
This prestigious annual event, which has six-rider heats, saw King's Lynn's Aussie star Leigh Adams win the Helmet, beating Greg Hancock and Wiltshire, with Chris Louis, Ryan Sullivan and Bo Brhel bringing up the rear.
Former Oxford junior Andrew Appleton featured in the Golden Ribbon on Saturday, finishing fourth behind Joanas Kilmarkorpi, Andreas Jonsson and Ales Dryml.
World champion Mark Loram confessed it just wasn't his day after bowing out in the quarter-finals of the Helmet with bike problems. Also going out at this stage was Ales Dryml after being excluded.
Steve Johnston made it to the Consolation final, along with Jason Crump, who turned out to be the winner.
