Sixth formers who did voluntary work with children at their old primary schools have been awarded certificates.
The work by youngsters from Lord Williams's School, Thame, included being "reading buddies" to children, helping with activities and running after-school clubs with schools in Thame and Chinnor.
Three of them - project chairman Ryan Dutton, Gareth Jones and Amber Roach - were chosen as Millennium volunteers and attended a course at Loughborough University and organised a sports tournament as part of the Thame in 2000 festival.
The certificates were presented by Thame mayor Don Butler who praised the efforts of all the youngsters. The scheme was backed by Barclays' New Futures Awards.
