Two students have been shortlisted in this year's Guardian Student Media Awards.
Tom Hill of St Anne's College, Oxford, and Catherine Shoard, from Hertford College, beat off fierce national competition to gain selection for the Student Critic of the Year category.
The judging panel for these prestigious awards include Guardian editor, Alan Rusbridger, Piers Morgan, editor of The Mirror, Channel 4 News presenter Jon Snow, Jeremy Vine of Newsnight, comedian and broadcaster Mark Thomas and James Brown, founder editor of Loaded magazine.
The national winners will be announced on Wednesday, November 1, and prizes on offer include cash, European flights and work experience for all those chosen.
