Rachel Stokes scored a hat-trick of tries as Oxfordshire's women made a successful start to their first ever County Championship campaign with a comfortable 36-10 victory over Buckinghamshire at Chesham on Sunday.
It looked like being anything but comfortable early on, as Bucks forced Oxon onto the defensive in the opening ten minutes.
Against the run of play, Oxon broke out from defence to score a try through skipper Tammy Taylor.
A further try came from fly half Stokes as gaps started to appear in the home side's three-quarter line.
Bucks hit back almost immediately with a try of their own.
However, Oxon started to take control, with Wang scoring a brace of tries and Stokes completing her treble. Stokes added three conver- sions.
A late Bucks consolation try finished off the scoring.
