Eight-year-old Lynne Evans has come top of the class in a national freestyle dance contest.
She not only won her solo in the class for under ten-year-olds, but competed against five others who won their classes for other age groups to win a separate trophy.
Lynne, of Hayes Close, Wadham Park, New Marston, Oxford, was competing against hundreds of other children and teenagers at the Association of Dance and Freestyle Professionals contest in Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire.
The trophy she won was the John Moase Trophy, named after a freestyle dance expert. Kelly-Jayne Poulter, owner of the Flair Dance Studio, where Lynne goes dancing each week, said: "I took 70 kids to the competition. Lynne stood out because she not only won her solo, but she beat all the other winners as well.
"I wasn't sure whether she would win. I thought they might choose someone older, but they obviously decided to go for the best and she was really good.
"It was very exciting to watch. When we found out she had won, the whole school went bonkers. The trophy she has won is so nice it is bigger than her." Lynne's mum, Denise Evans, said: "It was very exciting watching her. Our hearts were in our mouths. Everybody was saying she really deserved to win because she worked so hard."
