Schoolgirl sailor Bryony Shaw is celebrating winning a major award for her windsurfing.
The 17-year-old student from Cheney School in Headington, who has been windsurfing since the age of 12, has won the Young Sailor of the Year Award 2000 for the RYA Thames Valley region.
She is also top of her Mistral class in the UK Board Sailing Association's national series.
Last year, Bryony won the Royal Yachting Association's youth and masters' national championships and the girls' and ladies' titles in the North Sea Cup series. She said she was "absolutely delighted" to recieve her latest award.
