Two officers have been appointed to the top ranks of Thames Valley Police.
Steve Love, from Merseyside Police, and Sara Thornton, from the Metropolitan Police, both join the force as assistant chief constables.
ACC Love, 43, takes up his post as head of territorial policing on November 13, co-ordinating the work of all ten Thames Valley Police areas and being responsible for youth and restorative justice, community and partnership work, operations and the special constabulary.
Married with four children, he was a superintendent at Merseyside and area commander for Birkenhead.
ACC Thornton, who is married with two sons, will take responsibility for operational support departments from November 27.
She was part of the Metropolitan Police's Lawrence Review Team in 1997 which began a review of the force's performance in community and race relations in the wake of the Stephen Lawrence case.
