A gap in the league programme allowed Oxford Hawks to entertain Rover Oxford on the new pitch at Banbury Road North and a final scoreline of 4-0 to the visitors reflected their superior finishing.
The game started with an early chance for Hawks through a penalty corner, but Rover cleared the ball quickly and Lisa Deller made no mistake, shooting past keeper Jude Murphy.
Rover increased their lead when Ruth Foot dribbled the ball into the top right of the D and fired it into the roof of the net.
Hawks started the second half strongly and were unlucky not to pull a goal back when Hannah Williamson's effort from a penalty corner was judged to be too high.
Rover went on to score twice more later in the second half through two powerful penalty corner strikes from Lorraine Furney, the second finished off by Foot at the left post.
