Division 2 side Eynsham are the only undefeated team after only three weeks of play in the Oxford & District League and all their opponents have come from Division 1, writes Dick Hashman.
It is quite an achievement for Eynsham, who beat New Club 2-1, despite Geoff Watson (+110) dropping the opening game to Andy Moss (+110) 100-84.
Eynsham hit back as Ken Leach (+110) beat Harry Kidner (+90) 150-131, and Mick McCluskey (+110) swamped George Washington (+80) by an incredible 150-37.
Oracle entertained Riley A and won 2-1. Pom Merola (+20), making a rare appearance, defeated Roger Coenen (+70) 200-152 and then Lee Stopps (+70) beat newcomer Charles Philips (+100) 150-127.
Warner Page (+100) won again for Riley A.
Headington Con Club gained a 2-1 win against Newtrim, with Peter Brookes (+100) beating Simon Aries (-30) 200-130 and John Williams (+80) overcoming Bob Chivers (-10) 200-136. CCC A won 3-0 at Riley B as Brian Mabbut (+10) beat Ron Beaument (+60) 200-176, Ken Olive (+50) defeated Keith Maskens (+70) 150-124 and John Simpson (+10) beat Alan Copelin (+90) by the narrowest of margins 200-198.
Morris Motors defeated Crown House 3-0. Robert Tomlin (+80) beat Keith Pearce (+70) 150-104, Bob Hayward (+80) accounted for Len Palmer (+100) 150-127 and Doug Baker (+60) squeezed past Dick Hashman (-50) 200-198.
