A village post office is all set to re-open after being closed for six months.
Little Milton's post office and shop will open for business on Monday, at 9am, just 50 yards away from the one it replaces.
When the village heard the old post office was to close an action group backed by the parish council was set up.
With the help of Meg Hue-Williams, the owner of the new premises at Wall Street Cottage in Haseley Road, planning permission was gained for part of the cottage to be used.
The district council also gave cash help. The office in Haseley Road is now ready, with new postmistress Annie Rogers behind the counter.
The improved opening hours will be from 8.45am to 1pm and 2pm to 5.30pm on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays and from 9am to 1pm on Wednesdays and Saturdays.
Sheila Tilley, Post Office retail network manager said: "I hope the local community supports the premises it has fought so hard to get back and helps Little Milton keep this vital service."
The re-opening follows campaigns in other villages like Garsington and Ickford, which were also successful in getting back their post offices.
