Bicester's Rodger McCarroll has once again come in the top 20 for his category in the World Duathlon Championships held in Calais.
McCarroll, who has overcome brain surgery to continue his sport, has been tipped for a medal next year when he moves up an age category.
"There are several good competitors going up with me but if I can maintain this performance level a top three place is within grasp in the next five years," said the international duathlete.
He trains for the event with Bicester Millennium Cycling Club, with whom he won the 25-mile Chiltern Railways Time Trial
this year, while he trains with Bicester Athletic Club to polish up his running stages.
Duathlon involves a 10k run, a 15k ride and then a 5k run to finish.
McCarroll pays all his own expenses himself, even down to buying the GB kit.
Potential sponsors should contact him through the cycling club's website at bmcc2000.com.
