Business people are being urged to have their say on the way councils in Oxfordshire are run in the future, writes David Duffy.
The Oxfordshire Chamber of Commerce and Industry said it was vital that the views of business were taken into account in any decisions about organisations that affect so much of what companies in the county could do.
Chamber vice-chairman Keith Slater said: "Because of the way local government works at the moment, companies are not a direct part of the consultation process, but individual businessmen and women do get a say. We are very keen that they should play a part to make sure the decision that is made is in the best interests of business." Chamber past president Christopher Quinton said: "Local business is often too isolated from local government. There must be greater accountability."
