Russian visitors felt at home during a whistle-stop tour of south Oxfordshire.
Neville Harris, chairman of the Wantage constituency Labour Party, said: "They were captivated by our countryside and said it was similar in some ways to parts of the Perm region of Russia."
He accompanied Nikolay Devyatkin, chairman of the Perm Legislative Assembly, and Andrey Kurbatsky, of the region's foreign economic development department, on a tour of the area. Perm has twinning links with Oxfordshire.
Mr Devyatkin and Mr Kurbatsky took time out from their itinerary as guests of the Labour Party when they were hosted by Mr Harris and the Wantage constituency Labour spokesman Stephen Beer.
