POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a fight broke out following a televised football match, leaving one man badly injured.
Eight men, some wearing Manchester United shirts, were involved in the fracas in Wallingford High Street.
But the injured man failed to report the assault.
Now police want people to contact them if they saw the incident, which happened at 10.45pm on Saturday, October 21.
It is thought the men may have been drinking in Wallingford from 11am, when the Manchester United v Leeds United football game was televised.
Pc Patrick Simms said: "We would like to speak to anybody who witnessed this fight. The High Street was quite busy at the time and many people may have seen this incident."
Anyone with information should contact Pc Simms on 01235 776082 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
