Cherry Red Records Hellenic League: Ardley 2, Letcombe 0
Letcombe, despite missing four regulars, created good chances in a goalless first half, but this Division 1 match was decided just after half-time.
James Simms was injured and, before Letcombe could reorganise, Ronnie Williams provided the pass for Paul Spittle to score.
An Adam Pendell header hit a post shortly afterwards, and then came the game's most controversial moment.
Letcombe were awarded a free kick near their own penalty area, and Liam Breen kicked the ball gently sideways for it to be taken in the correct place.
Ardley's Steve Tucker promptly nipped in to score and the referee awarded the goal. Matty Goddard protested too vigorously and was sent off.
Even with ten men, Letcombe pressed forward and Pendell hit the bar, but it was not to be their day. Ardley's Williams was only shown yellow after a foul on Pat Allen.
