Youngsters using micro-scooters have been worrying pedestrians in Oxford's main shopping street Cornmarket.
Now city councillors are calling for clarification on the law regarding the non-motorised version of the scooters.
City councillors at yesterday's highways and traffic committee agreed to seek guidance on the issue from Environment Secretary John Prescott.
They also will investigate the possibility of including the scooters in a by-law which already bans cyclists from Cornmarket Street from 10am to 6pm, as part of pedestrianisation in the Oxford Transport Strategy.
