Six Witney Roadrunners travelled to Llanberis to take part in the Snowdonia Marathon on Sunday.
This is the last major marathon of the year and is widely accepted as one of the most difficult. To add to the tough course, the runners had to contend with gale-force winds, the rain keeping off until later in the day.
There were some outstanding performances by the Witney athletes. Mike Baillie, following on his sub-three hour finish at London, took 20th position with a time of 3.06.15.
Pippa Mason, in her first marathon for several years, was first senior lady and third overall in a time of 3.16.36.
Sheila Bailey of White Horse Harriers is proving herself to be one tough lady. She completed the Snowdon Marathon and it was her third race in three weeks.
The first was the Hanney 5, she then recorded a pb in the Abingdon Marathon, and in Snowdonia she finished 309th in a time of 3.58.22, which also made her fifth lady over 45.
She aims to make it four races next week with the start of the Oxford Mail Cross-Country League.
