Eynsham suffered their first defeat in the Oxford & District League when they visited Cowley Con Club and were beaten 2-1, despite Geoff Watson (+110) winning the opening game 200-148 against John Simpson (+10).

Tony Moffatt (+90), making his first appearance this season, beat Ken Leach (+110) 150-101 to level the match and then Ken Olive (+50) beating the in-form Mick McCluskey (+110) 150-140.

Rileys A visited Thame and came away 3-0 winners with Dave Morgan (+60) narrowly beating Alan King (+50) 150-145 and then Roger Coenen (+70) beat Arthur Jones (+100) 150-146.

Warner Page (+100) beat Tom Fletcher (+70) 150-118 to leave Thame at the bottom of Division 1 and without a win so far.

Newtrim have shot up to joint leaders after their 3-0 win over champions Oracle. Norman Woodcock (+90) continued his unbeaten run, beating Ted Milsom (+90) 150-94. Simon Aries (-50) beat Lee Stopps (+70) 200-139 and Bob Chivers (-10) won at last, beating Jack Woods (+80).

New Club lead Division 1 after their 2-1 win over HCC A with wins by both the veterans Harry Kidner and George Washington. Slipping up this week was Justin Shepherd.

Crown House entertained Rileys B and quickly lost the opening two games and the match when Keith Maskers (+70) beat Len Palmer (+10) 150-96 and Ron Beament (+60) defeated Keith Pearce (+70) 150-117.

However, Dick Hashman (-50) beat Alan Copelin (+90) 200-151, making a 59 break in the process and gaining a valuable point.

Witney won their second match when they beat Morris Motors 2-1 and they now lie second in Division 2.

Although Steve Mill (+110) lost the opening game 123-150 against Roger Tomlin (+80), Terry Cook (+50) beat Doug Baker (+60) 150-126 and then John Hume (+30) beat Bob Hayward (+80) 200-147.
