Hindus and Sikhs got together to mark their main religious festival, Diwali.
Grimsbury Agewell, which organises educational and social opportunities for older adults, ethnic minorities and the disabled, provided the link between Banbury and the Asian celebration.
The festival opened with songs by children from the East Street playgroup.
Cllr Dave Green, chairman of Oxfordshire County Council, presented Asian Elders with certificates gained through the county's English Speakers of Other Languages service. The highlight of the day was a feast of Asian dishes prepared by the Elders.
Guests at the festival were residents of local sheltered housing and other East Street Centre groups.
