There's plenty of cup action this weekend, but it is a friendly match that captures much of the attention, writes Michael Knox.

Chinnor and Banbury will vie for the unofficial title of the second best club in Oxfordshire (behind Henley) when they meet at Kingsey Road tomorrow.

Banbury are in the lower half of Midland 1, while Chinnor top South West 2 East.

The clubs, who have beaten each other in the past two Oxon Cup finals, are taking this game seriously, having named near full-strength sides.

Chinnor will be without injured loose head prop Simon Matthews, while skipper James Davies is on the bench to allow Tim Wright a run-out in the centre.

For the Bulls, winger Chris Fellows, centre Graeme Cartmell and flanker Richard Hughes come in, with Steve Clarke moving to lock.

In competitive action are Bicester, who carry the county flag in the NPI Intermediate Cup to Wimborne for a third-round tie. Littlemore, meanwhile, entertain Oakmeadians in the third round of the Tetley Bitter Vase and hope to welcome back centre Will Draper player-of-the-year for the last two seasons who has been working away, and young second row prospect Darren Springer, following a minor knee operation.

Sunday should have seen four matches in the second preliminary round of the David Charles Oxfordshire Cup but only the Henley Wanderers v Oxford tie survives.

Wheatley and Harwell have brought their tie forward 24 hours and combined it with a rearranged Berks, Bucks and Oxon League Division 2 game.

Littlemore have switched their game against Didcot to Saturday, November 18, the same day the Wallingford v Abingdon match will now be played.
