Magistrates imposed an interim ban on a drink driver whose breath test showed more than twice the legal limit.
Jobless Antony Benzing, 36, of Castle Street, Wallingford, provided a positive breath test after police approached him as he parked near his home on October 29.
At Didcot court, prosecutor Sarah Shears said a breath test registered 89 micrograms of alcohol in 100ml of breath. The legal limit is 35 micrograms.
Benzing, who admitted driving with excess alcohol, said: "I have no real explanation. I was at a drinks party with my parents and consumed more than I was aware. I was there for several hours. It is not something I do habitually."
He was remanded on unconditional bail for reports.
