A popular farmers' market is looking for a new home and someone to organise it.
The Wallingford Market Place market in July proved a great success, judging by the favourable feedback received by the town council.
Nearby Thame and Henley already have regular farmers' markets. And the consensus is that Wallingford should have one every Friday, together with its existing charter market.
The town council says it does not have sufficient resources to organise the market. Instead councillors are asking Wallingford Business 2000, the local traders' group which organised the July event, to help find solutions.
Possible sites for the market include Goldsmiths Lane car park and Kinecroft park.
Town clerk Andrew Rogers said: "It is possible South Oxfordshire District Council would appoint a part-time farmer's market co-ordinator, or the county council might agree to run farmers' markets county-wide.
"But at the moment no one wants to grasp the nettle."
Town councillor Adrian Payne hoped any regular farmers' market would benefit local farmers, rather than those travelling to Wallingford from up to 30 miles away.
