Two players were sent off as Abingdon made it five wins in six matches with this victory over Shortwood.
Shortwood striker Green got his marching orders for dissent, and was followed by Abingdon 's Mark Simms for the same offence.
Jimmy Smith headed an effort against the woodwork before Abingdon took the lead when Chris Hooper's cross was turned into his own net by Lee Driver-Dickson.
Hooper then saw his cracking shot ricochet off the bar and post. Within a minute, Adam Cann and Simms beat Shortwood's offside trap for the latter to make it 2-0, only for Simms to blot his copybook later by being sent off for arguing with the referee.
