Philip Pullman, who has been compared to Tolkien and CS Lewis, will be reading from his long-awaited new book in Oxford.
The Amber Spyglass is the third in the author's His Dark Materials trilogy and follows from Northern Lights and The Subtle Knife. The adventure story mingles philosophy, theology and science with new labyrinthine worlds.
Mr Pullman will be reading the book at the University Museum Lecture Theatre on Tuesday, November 14, at 7pm.
Tickets for the event are 2 and available from Blackwell's Too, Broad Street, Oxford.
