Mobile phone retailer Carphone Warehouse today reported a 62 per cent jump in sales in its first financial report since its summer flotation, writes David Duffy.
The group, which has stores in Oxford, said turnover for the six months to September 23 had jumped to 447.9m, from 277.3m. Earnings rose by the same percentage to 17.1m.
Founder Charles Dunstone said the figures showed the group was delivering both accelerating growth and a significant increase in profitability.
He said: "The Carphone Warehouse is now clearly the largest independent distributor of mobile phones and related services in Europe."
