Leading scorer Mark West is set to return for Thame United as they take on Ryman Division 1 rivals Worthing in the FA Umbro Trophy first round replay at Windmill Stadium tonight (7.45), writes Russell Smith.
West, with 17 goals under his belt already in the league this season, has recovered from the toe injury which forced him to miss Saturday's 2-2 draw on the south coast.
Midfielder Chris Fontaine also returns after being unavailable on Saturday due to family commitments.
Prospects for the game getting the go ahead were yesterday described as "pretty good" although there will be a precautionary inspection at midday.
The winners of Thame's tie will be away to either Folkestone Invicta or Oxford City, who are set to meet for the first time after their tie on Saturday was postponed due to waterlogging.
The Dr Martens Premier League club's manager, Neil Cugley, yesterday reported that prospects for tonight's tie were good and no inspection was planned.
City could be without Simon Abercombie due to work commitments. Lee Hewlett is added to the squad. Witney Town's first-round tie against Ryman Premier Division club Harrow Borough, which was postponed on Saturday with the Marriotts Stadium pitch waterlogged, is again in doubt following heavy rain.
If the tie does go ahead tonight, skipper Gary Murphy will be missing as he has a one-match ban.
The winners of Witney's tie will be at home to Dorchester Town who beat Boreham Wood 2-1 in the second round on Saturday, December 2.
Meanwhile, record-breaking goalscorer Carl Henry's second spell at Witney Town looks to be over because the club can't afford to pay him while he's not playing.
Henry, who set a club record at the Dr Martens League outfit by scoring in nine successive games last season before walking out in acrimonious circumstances last February, rejoined Town at the start of this term.
But he has struggled to gain a regular place in the side, and now manager Brian Hughes has confirmed that the former AFC Wallingford striker has left the club.
Hughes said: It was pointless him coming with us and not playing. He is one of my top paid players and I couldn't justify paying him if he was not going to play. It is nothing personal."
